During my Primary 1 semester I was placed in a first grade classroom. I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Young and her students. I created and implemented lesson plans for Reading, Art, and Social Studies. I also worked with a student for a Reading Case Study Project. I created activities that would help develop identifying sight words and his decoding skills. One of my favorite lessons with the class was when I read a book about insects and then the students got to choose the insect they wanted to decorate. This activity sparked the students' creativity and it made me feel accomplished seeing them engaged and having fun.
